Avianca announced that during 2024 it consolidated the most extensive route network in its history in Medellín with the launch of eight new operations for a total of 30 destinations by year-end. This, while carrying the largest number of passengers in 105 years to and from the city.
Since mid-year, Avianca customers in Medellin have new routes to Lima, Santiago de Chile, Aruba and Buenos Aires; from October to San Salvador and from December they will also be able to fly to Panama City, São Paulo and Guayaquil, non-stop.

“With more than 4.7 million passengers mobilized between January and September, 50% more than in the same period of 2019, it is clear that Medellin is a strategic and fundamental city for the connectivity of Colombia, and for this reason, this year we continue to bet on providing new routes to consolidate 30 destinations, with an offer that includes Business Class in the Americas and the Insignia by Avianca experience on the Medellín-Madrid route, also contributing so that more and more people in different geographies can connect with this destination that is key for tourism, business and the growth of the country,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
More than 30 routes to fly to America and Europe from Medellín
With the inauguration of Avianca’s new routes as of December, its customers will have a network of 30 direct routes connecting with 12 destinations within Colombia and 18 abroad.
Domestic destinations: Bogota, Cartagena, Monteria, San Andres, Riohacha, Pereira, Cucuta, Barranquilla, Armenia, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta and Cali.
International destinations: San Juan, Miami, Santiago, Lima, Orlando, San José, Cancún, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Mexico City, Punta Cana, New York, Quito, Aruba, San Salvador. As of December, Panama City, São Paulo* and Guayaquil will also be added.
