Arajet obtained U.S. approval to operate three new non-stop routes from the Dominican Republic: New York, Miami and Puerto Rico.

This authorization follows the entry into force of the “Open Skies” agreement between the two countries.

Arajet transports its highest number of passengers ever in November

“Arajet had applied for these routes almost two years ago, but it was not until now, with the official implementation of the agreement, that the airline was able to obtain approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT),” said Tourism Minister David Collado.

“Now all Dominican airlines will be able to fly to more destinations, and increase competitiveness with the most important market for the country: the United States,” Collado posted on the X social network.

“Arajet is very pleased with the DOT approval of our first three routes to the US. We have already started the FAA approval process, and if everything goes according to plan, we expect to start flying in the second quarter of 2025,” said Victor M. Pacheco Mendez, CEO of Arajet.
