Spain’s Air Europa continues its international expansion plan by announcing a new connection between Madrid and Istanbul, the vibrant Turkish city that bridges Europe and Asia. This route, starting on May 12, strengthens Air Europa’s presence in the Mediterranean region.
Route Details
The launch of this route is significant for both tourism and business, leveraging Istanbul’s strategic position as a major connectivity hub. The airline will begin with four weekly flights, increasing to a daily frequency from July 7. Flights will depart from Madrid at 09:30 AM, while the return from Istanbul will be at 4:00 PM, ensuring connectivity with overnight transatlantic routes to the Americas.

Flights will be operated with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, known for its efficiency and capacity. This model will offer more than 247,000 seats in its first year of operation, with an estimated occupancy rate of 80%
Fleet and Sustainability
Air Europa plans to add more aircraft to its fleet, including three new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and the first Boeing 737 MAX. This strategy underscores the airline’s commitment to sustainability and emission reduction, by investing in a modern and eco-friendly fleet.
