Colombia: Civil Aeronautics authorized 110 international air routes between 2023 and 2024

Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics Authority announced on Tuesday that between 2023 and 2024 it has authorized 110 new international air routes for the movement of passengers and cargo. This decision not only increases Colombia’s connectivity with the world but also boosts economic growth through tourism and trade.

According to the press release, authorized destinations include countries such as Spain, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Guatemala, Qatar and Ecuador.

Several airlines have reaffirmed their commitment to Colombia by establishing or expanding their operations in the country, among them:

Some of the authorized routes and frequencies are:

KLM: Amsterdam – Bogotá – Cartagena – Amsterdam, with seven (7) weekly frequencies.

IBERIA: Madrid (MAD) – Bogotá – Madrid, with twenty-one (21) weekly frequencies.

EMIRATES AIRLINE: Bogotá – Miami – Dubai.

QATAR AIRWAYS: Bogotá – Caracas (Technical stop) – Doha.

NEOS: Milan – Punta Cana – Cartagena – Milan, with one (01) weekly frequency.

SUNWING AIRLINES: San Andrés – Montreal, Canada (Charter).

COPA AIRLINES: Various routes connecting Bogotá, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Cali, Pereira, and San Andrés with Panama.

The authorization of new air routes by the Civil Aeronautics is a key step towards strengthening Colombia’s position as a major tourist and commercial destination on the international stage.
