Delta Air Lines’ presence at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport continues to grow, and this time the airline is taking a significant step by launching a nonstop international service. This winter, the company will operate its new direct flight from the Texas capital to Cancún, Mexico. This daily, seasonal service will begin just before Christmas, on December 20, and will extend until mid-April 2026.

“Delta is the leading global network operator at Austin-Bergstrom, with nearly 60 daily departures on peak demand days this winter. This new service to Cancún adds another popular leisure destination for our Austin customers,” said Paul Baldoni, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning.

The route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft equipped with First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Economy Class cabins. Additionally, SkyMiles members traveling on this flight will enjoy fast and free Wi-Fi onboard, along with individual seatback screens offering over 1,000 hours of content, perfect for relaxing during the journey.

More Options for Leisure and Business Getaways

In addition to this new route to Cancún, Delta will increase its service between Austin and Orlando to two daily flights during the peak winter season, offering customers options in both the morning and afternoon.

There’s no need to wait until next winter to take advantage of Delta’s expanding network from Austin. This Thursday, February 27, the airline began a new twice-daily service to New Orleans, and in March, a daily nonstop service to Panama City, Florida, will commence. Service to Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Memphis has also been announced starting in May, as well as to San Francisco and Tampa in June.

With these additional routes, Delta’s departures from Austin will increase by more than 35% compared to the previous year.
