Iberia announced this Wednesday a significant transformation in its loyalty program, which, starting April 1, 2025, will be renamed Club Iberia Plus. This change not only represents an evolution in how travelers accumulate benefits but also introduces new membership tiers and more opportunities to earn rewards.
Key Changes in Club Iberia Plus
Elite Points per Euro Spent
One of the most important changes in the new Club Iberia Plus is how members accumulate Elite Points, which determine their level within the program. Starting from the mentioned date, customers will earn these points based on the money spent rather than the distance traveled. This will apply to flights with Iberia Group airlines, as well as the purchase of additional products and services, such as:
- Seat reservations.
- Priority boarding.
- Purchases with brands associated with the program.
Additionally, members who choose Óptima, Confort, or Flexible fares will accumulate extra Elite Points, depending on the route and cabin they travel in.
According to Beatriz Guillén, Iberia’s Global Sales and Loyalty Director, this new model aims to be “fairer and more transparent” in rewarding the most loyal customers, while also strengthening the program’s partner network.
Fewer Flights Needed to Reach Higher Tiers
The new program also relaxes the requirements to reach higher tiers. Specifically, customers will need to complete fewer annual flights to achieve Iberia Plus Silver and Gold levels. Additionally, access to the Platinum level can be achieved not only through Elite Points but also by the number of flights taken.

Avios Earnings: No Changes
The system for accumulating Avios, the currency of Iberia’s loyalty program, remains unchanged. Customers will continue to earn Avios for every euro spent on flights and other services within the program and its over 100 associated brands. Avios can be redeemed for flights, hotels, car rentals, and various leisure experiences.
Membership Tiers in Club Iberia Plus
With the arrival of Club Iberia Plus, the airline introduces a new loyalty tier while maintaining the existing categories:
- Classic
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Platinum Prime (New)
The Infinita and Infinita Prime categories, which offer exclusive benefits to the most loyal customers, are also retained.
Platinum Prime: The New Top Tier
The Platinum Prime tier is introduced as the most exclusive option in the program. Among its advantages are:
- Higher Avios accumulation.
- More free cabin upgrade options.
- Exclusive redemption campaigns.
To reach Platinum Prime, customers must do so solely through euros spent, while the Platinum level can also be achieved by the number of flights taken. Both categories will be equivalent to the Emerald level of oneworld, ensuring benefits with partner airlines.
A More Flexible and Attractive Loyalty Program
With over 6.5 million members, the new Club Iberia Plus positions itself as one of the most comprehensive loyalty proposals in the market. Its flexibility in accumulating points and the inclusion of new advantages make this change a step forward in the frequent traveler experience.
This redesign of the program reinforces Iberia’s commitment to rewarding customer loyalty and adapting to new trends in the airline industry. Starting April 1, 2025, travelers will enjoy a more intuitive and beneficial system for accumulating and redeeming rewards on flights and associated services.
