Iberia has announced a historic increase in its capacity for the summer 2025 season, with a significant expansion in connectivity to Latin America, the United States, Asia, and Europe. This strategy reinforces its position as a leader in intercontinental flights and responds to the growing demand for air travel.
Latin America
Iberia will consolidate its leadership in Latin America with record connectivity. The airline will offer 3.2 million seats in the region, a 4% increase compared to 2024, representing over 300 weekly flights.
- Buenos Aires and São Paulo will increase their frequency with three additional flights per week, reaching 21 and 14 weekly flights, respectively.
- Lima will add a new frequency, allowing for two daily flights starting in May.
- Mexico City and Bogotá will maintain their three daily flights.
- Montevideo and Quito will keep their daily flight.
- Santiago de Chile will increase from 10 to 11 weekly flights starting in June.
- Rio de Janeiro will continue with five weekly flights.
- Caracas will offer between three and five weekly flights depending on the month.
- Guayaquil will have three weekly flights.

Central America and the Caribbean
The offer in this region will remain stable:
- Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and El Salvador will have daily flights.
- Panama will have up to four weekly flights.
- Havana will continue with three flights per week.
Growth in the United States
The airline is strongly betting on the U.S. market, operating 140 weekly flights, a 14% increase compared to 2024, with a total of 1.1 million seats available.
Direct destinations include:
- New York and Miami: two daily flights.
- Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington: one daily flight.
- San Francisco: three weekly flights.
- Boston: increase from one to two daily flights starting in June.
- Washington: increase from four to seven weekly flights.
Some of these routes will be operated with the new Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
Expansion in Asia and the Middle East
- Tokyo: Will maintain three weekly frequencies, with approximately 63,000 seats available between April and October. The first months have seen an occupancy rate of over 90%.
- Doha: Will continue with a daily flight operated by Iberia, complemented by two additional code-shared flights with Qatar Airways, allowing for three daily flights between Madrid and Doha. This route offers connections to 49 destinations in Asia, 17 in Africa, 18 in the Middle East, and 6 in Oceania.
Strengthening in Europe
Iberia will boost its presence in key markets such as France and Italy:
- Paris: Four additional frequencies, reaching 11 daily flights.
- Rome: Five additional flights per week, with up to seven daily flights, in response to the Jubilee Year 2025.
- Brussels and Vienna: Two additional frequencies, reaching four daily flights.
Seasonal Flights and Popular Destinations
- Ponta Delgada (Azores): Three weekly flights starting June 7.
- Tirana (Albania): Three weekly flights starting June 7.
- Ljubljana (Slovenia): Two weekly flights starting July 27.
- Greek Islands: Santorini and Mykonos will have up to six weekly flights; Corfu will reach seven weekly flights in August.
- Athens: Reinforcement up to 30 weekly flights in August (three more than in 2024).
- Croatia: Dubrovnik will have 17 weekly flights (+2 compared to 2024); Zagreb and Split will maintain nine weekly flights.
- Italy: Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, and Palermo will operate with the same offer as in 2024.
In total, Iberia will offer 16 million seats in short and medium-haul flights, a figure similar to the previous year.
