Spanish airline Iberia continues to strengthen its presence in the international market with the opening of the next Espacio Iberia in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This innovative space aims to bring the experience of flying with Iberia closer to the Argentine public, solidifying its position as one of the top airlines in South America.
A Space That Celebrates the Joy of Flying
The Espacio Iberia will open its doors in March 2025, located at 202 Florida Street, one of Buenos Aires’ most iconic locations. Spanning over 1,000 square meters, this center will offer various activities to the public over a period of nearly four weeks. Notable attractions include:

Buenos Aires: The Third Destination for Espacio Iberia
The Argentine capital joins the list of international cities where Iberia has launched this innovative concept, following successful editions in Bogotá (2023) and Mexico City (2024). According to María Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Director of Customers, Network Development, and Alliances, this initiative is part of a strategy aimed at attracting new customers and strengthening the relationship with the Argentine public.
“We hope that more Argentines, whether they are already our customers or not, visit us and discover the best of our experience,” López Solás said during the announcement at the FITUR tourism fair.
The Strategic Importance of Argentina for Iberia
Argentina has proven to be a key market in Iberia’s global network, which spans 143 destinations across 48 countries. In 2024, the airline increased the frequency of flights between Buenos Aires and Madrid from two to three daily, reaching 21 weekly flights. This increase allowed Iberia to transport over 2,000 passengers daily, setting a historic record for this route.
In terms of capacity, Iberia made more than 615,000 seats available between the two countries throughout 2024. Additionally, 19 of the 21 weekly flights on this route are operated by the Airbus A350, a state-of-the-art aircraft known for its efficiency and comfort, reducing fuel consumption by 35% compared to previous models.
Strategic Alliances and Tourism
The announcement of Espacio Iberia was made during the 46th edition of FITUR, the international tourism fair in Madrid. During this event, representatives from Iberia and Argentine authorities, including Argentina’s Secretary of Tourism, Daniel Scioli, held meetings to strengthen collaboration in the tourism sector.
