Qatar Airways, recognized as the world’s best airline by Skytrax in 2024 for the eighth time, takes a significant step in its expansion by announcing two new destinations in South America. Starting in the summer of 2025, the airline will connect Doha with Bogotá and Caracas, solidifying its position as a leader in global connectivity.

New Routes: Bogotá and Caracas

Beginning mid-2025, Qatar Airways will operate two weekly flights (on Wednesdays and Sundays) from Doha to Bogotá, with a continuation to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas. The return flight from Caracas will be nonstop to Doha, setting a new standard for connectivity between the Middle East and South America.

This expansion makes Qatar Airways the first and only airline to offer direct flights from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier operating in Venezuela, strategically positioning itself as a bridge between these regions.

Emirates currently offers flights between Dubai and Bogotá with a stopover in Miami.

Fleet and Onboard Experience

The route will be serviced by Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, featuring 42 Business Class seats and 234 Economy Class seats. These flights offer passengers the opportunity to experience Qatar Airways’ renowned hospitality, combining luxury, comfort, and award-winning service.

Impact on Global Connectivity

With this addition, Qatar Airways increases its destinations in the Americas to 16, including key cities such as Dallas, Miami, New York, São Paulo, and Toronto. Furthermore, its global network of over 170 destinations will provide travelers from Bogotá and Caracas with efficient connections to the Middle East and beyond.

“The launch of flights to Bogotá and Caracas marks a transformative moment for Qatar Airways and for travelers to South America. As the first airline to offer nonstop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier flying to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures, and commerce”, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said.

This strategic move strengthens Qatar Airways’ presence in South America, a market with vast potential for tourism, business, and global connectivity.
