The Tocumen International Airport, Panama’s main air terminal, is reinforcing its strategic role as a regional connection hub with the addition of new international routes. In 2025, the airport will significantly expand its operations with the arrival of airlines such as Condor and the return of Aeroméxico and Air China, as well as the expansion of routes by United Airlines, according to the airport’s Operations Manager, Claudio Dutary.
Impact on Tourism and Global Connectivity
Currently, the airport connects to 87 destinations in South America, Central America, the Caribbean, the United States, and Europe, including major cities such as Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, and Istanbul. In 2024, it closed with the operation of 12 commercial airlines and 17 cargo airlines, with an average of 430 daily flights.
