Lithuanian prosecutors stated this Wednesday that the cargo plane crash involving the DHL/Swiftair aircraft in Vilnius, which occurred on November 25, 2024, was likely due to human error. Authorities have requested Spain to interrogate the pilot, who is currently recovering in the country.
The crashed aircraft, a Boeing 737-400 operated by the Spanish airline Swiftair for DHL, was on a cargo flight from Leipzig, Germany, to the Lithuanian capital. During the landing maneuver, the plane struck the ground, sliding over 100 meters before colliding with a residential building.
