American Airlines has reinforced its leadership as the leading U.S. airline in Mexico with the announcement of a new route to Puerto Escondido, bringing its total to 30 destinations in the country.
Puerto Escondido: New Star Destination
Starting December 3, American will begin operating flights to Puerto Escondido, a booming destination on the coast of Oaxaca. Known for its beaches, vibrant nightlife, and coastal cuisine, this Mexican gem is the perfect spot for those seeking a tropical or adventure getaway.
The flights, operated by Embraer 175 aircraft, will depart from Dallas-Fort Worth twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

José A. Sustained Growth in the Country
Mexico is the top international destination for U.S. travelers, and American has responded with a strategy of steady growth. In March, the airline launched flights to Tampico, and in November, it will introduce the only international route from the state of Oklahoma, with Cancún as the destination.
Throughout 2024, American also added new routes to Tijuana, Tulum, and Veracruz, strengthening its presence in the country and expanding options for tourists, families, and adventurers alike.
