Avianca continues to expand its network with the inauguration of four new international routes: Tampa-Bogotá, Fort Lauderdale-Medellín, Miami-San José (Costa Rica), and San Juan (Puerto Rico)-San José.
Details of the New Routes
The routes are operated using Airbus A320 aircraft, with a capacity for 180 passengers. Collectively, these new connections offer over 7,500 weekly seats, distributed as follows:
- Tampa – Bogotá: 1,440 weekly seats, with four flights per week.
- Fort Lauderdale – Medellín: 2,520 weekly seats, with daily flights.
- Miami – San José: 2,520 weekly seats, with daily flights.
- San Juan – San José: 1,080 weekly seats, with three weekly flights.
Flight Schedules
The new routes operate on the following schedules:
- San Juan – San José: Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Departs at 2:10 p.m. and arrives at 3:25 p.m.
San José – San Juan: Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Departs at 7:30 a.m. and arrives at 12:40 p.m.
- Bogotá – Tampa: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departs at 7:15 a.m. and arrives at 12:15 p.m.
Tampa – Bogotá: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departs at 2:15 p.m. and arrives at 5:10 p.m.
- Medellín – Fort Lauderdale: Daily flights. Departs at 10:20 a.m. and arrives at 2:45 p.m.
Fort Lauderdale – Medellín: Daily flights. Departs at 4:30 p.m. and arrives at 6:50 p.m.
- San José – Miami: Daily flights. Departs at 8:25 a.m. and arrives at 1:15 p.m.
Miami – San José: Daily flights. Departs at 9:40 p.m. and arrives at 10:40 p.m.
Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca, highlighted the airline’s expansion: “Over the past year, we transported more than 38 million passengers and solidified the largest route network in our history. With these new routes, we strengthen connectivity between the U.S. and Latin America, enabling millions of tourists and business travelers to access new opportunities.”
With these additions, Avianca reaffirms its commitment to expanding its network, offering passengers more options for efficient and convenient travel between the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
