Venezuela: Avior Airlines Reactivates Route Between Caracas and El Vigía
Avior Airlines resumed its flights between Caracas and El Vigía this Monday, April 7, after suspending the route in September 2023. The connection will operate with four weekly frequencies—Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday—enhancing connectivity with Venezuela’s Andean region.
The inaugural flight departed from Simón Bolívar International Airport at 1:00 p.m. with 93 passengers on board. One hour later, it landed at Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo International Airport, serving the city of El Vigía in Mérida state. The return flight to Maiquetía carried 103 passengers.
Jorge Añez Dager, founder of Avior Airlines, celebrated the route’s return and highlighted the support from aviation authorities and commercial partners to make this reactivation possible. “We are thrilled to resume operations in El Vigía. This marks a significant milestone to boost tourism, improve connectivity, and expand trade, in this case, to the beautiful Venezuelan Andes region from Caracas,” he stated.

Tickets for this route start at $50 per one-way trip and can be purchased through the airline’s usual channels: its website, mobile app, and travel agencies.
With this reinstatement, Avior Airlines continues its national and international expansion strategy. The company aims to build a broader network to reach more destinations within and beyond Venezuela.
