Volotea announced this Thursday a new exclusive route connecting Palma de Mallorca with Rodez, in the Occitanie region of southern France. Starting on July 2, the airline will offer over 2,800 seats across approximately 18 flights until the end of the year, operating weekly on Wednesdays.
This new connection reinforces Volotea’s commitment to Palma de Mallorca Airport, from which it plans to offer 450,000 seats in 2025—an 18% increase compared to 2024. Of this capacity, 15% will correspond to domestic routes.

With the addition of the Rodez route, Volotea expands its destinations from Palma de Mallorca to 14. Currently, the airline connects the city with four destinations in Spain (Asturias, Bilbao, Salamanca, and San Sebastian) and nine in France (Brest, Bordeaux, Deauville, Strasbourg, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, and Toulouse).

Since its arrival at the Mallorcan airport in 2012, the airline has transported over 2.1 million passengers. In 2024, it achieved a 91% load factor on flights from this base, reflecting strong demand from travelers.
Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer, emphasized the importance of this new route: “We are very pleased to announce this connection between Palma de Mallorca and Rodez, which strengthens our commitment to enhancing connectivity between the islands and the European mainland. In 2025, 43% of our routes will serve island connections.”
This new route will provide an alternative for travelers seeking to explore the cultural and scenic richness of Occitanie, as well as those wishing to enjoy the Mediterranean charm of Mallorca. Additionally, it will improve mobility options for regions with limited direct air travel alternatives.
