Air transport in Colombia reached a total of 18,223,000 passengers between January and April 2025. This figure, reported by the Civil Aviation Analytics Office, represents a 3.4% increase compared to the same period the previous year. In other words, over 606,000 additional passengers chose air travel for domestic or international routes.

Sustained Growth in Domestic and International Flights

Of the total passengers mobilized, 10,350,000 traveled on domestic flights, while 7,873,000 flew international routes.

The surge in international traffic not only highlights the sector’s recovery but also underscores Colombia’s growing appeal as a tourist and business destination. “For the first time in history, we surpassed 18 million travelers in the first four months of the year,” emphasized the Minister of Transport, María Fernanda Rojas.

Cargo Transport Also on the Rise

The positive trend is not limited to passengers. Air cargo transport also showed encouraging signs, with 326,046 tons mobilized during the same period—a 3.1% increase compared to 2024. In absolute terms, this translates to an additional 9,771 tons.

This growth strengthens national logistics and foreign trade, key drivers of the country’s economic dynamism. “Cargo transport recorded an increase of over 9,000 tons compared to 2024, a clear sign that the economy continues to recover,” Rojas noted.

As Colombia consolidates its position in the region, the aviation sector emerges as a growth engine with international potential. The country is not only flying high but doing so with clear and sustained direction.
