JetSMART, the fastest-growing ultra-low-cost airline in South America, has taken a strategic step to consolidate its presence in the Peruvian market. With the addition of a new Airbus A320neo to its local fleet, the airline will enhance air connectivity within the country and internationally, particularly during the peak travel season in August.

More Flights, More Destinations, More Opportunities

The arrival of the new aircraft will allow JetSMART to increase its total weekly flights by 38% compared to May. This operational leap responds to growing demand and aims to provide better options for tourist, corporate, and personal travelers.

The impact of this expansion will be felt directly in several key cities across the country:

  • Arequipa: Weekly flights will increase from 22 to 33, significantly improving service to southern Peru.
  • Cusco: The most popular route among passengers will see an increase from 59 to 72 weekly flights.
  • Piura: Flights will rise from 7 to 11 per week, boosting connectivity with northern Peru.
  • Tarapoto: One of the largest growths, with weekly flights more than doubling from 8 to 18.

International Commitment: Cartagena Nearly Triples Frequencies

The growth is not limited to the domestic market. The international connection between Lima and Cartagena, one of the most attractive destinations served from Peru, will increase its frequency from 2 to 5 flights per week. This enhancement makes the route a much more accessible option for those seeking experiences in Colombia’s Caribbean region.

In total, JetSMART will expand its operations in Peru from 132 to 182 weekly flights, reaffirming its commitment to improving access to air travel with low prices and efficient services.

“Each aircraft represents a symbol of who we are as a region. The Mono Carayá reminds us that flying can also be a way to care for and value our natural environment. At JetSMART, we continue to grow with purpose: more frequencies, more connectivity, and more opportunities for people to fly,” said Francesca Luna, Country Manager of JetSMART Peru.
