Air Canada inaugurated its new route between Montreal and Porto on Wednesday evening, adding a second destination in Portugal to its global network.
“We are thrilled to return to Porto, our newest European route this summer and our second destination in Portugal,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo at Air Canada. He emphasized that the route is designed to attract passengers from across its North American network, leveraging the connectivity of the Montreal hub.
This new service complements the airline’s existing flights from Montreal and Toronto to Lisbon, reinforcing its commitment to the Portuguese market.
Frequencies and Assigned Aircraft
The route will operate until August 28. Flight AC928 departs Montreal on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m., arriving in Porto at 9:20 a.m. the following day. The return flight, AC929, takes off from Porto on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 11:20 a.m., landing in Montreal at 1:45 p.m.

The flights are operated using an Airbus A330-300, configured with three service classes: Economy, Premium Economy, and Air Canada Signature Class. The latter features lie-flat seats, personalized service, gourmet meals, increased baggage allowance, and priority airport access.
European Summer: Air Canada Expands Its Routes
The launch of the Porto route follows other updates to the airline’s European network. In May, Air Canada introduced flights to Naples; in April, it resumed service between Ottawa and London Heathrow. This week also marks the start of the Toronto-Prague route, and in late June, Montreal-Edinburgh flights will commence.
With this expansion, Air Canada strengthens its transatlantic network and diversifies options for travelers looking to explore Europe from Canada with direct flights, differentiated services, and convenient schedules.
