A Ryanair flight bound for Milan was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Germany on Wednesday night after encountering a severe storm that caused intense turbulence. According to Bavarian police authorities, the incident left nine passengers injured.
From Berlin to Memmingen: An Unexpected Diversion
The flight, which departed from Berlin, managed to land safely at Memmingen Airport, located approximately 115 kilometers west of Munich. The decision to divert the aircraft was made by the pilots due to extreme weather conditions encountered during the journey.

Among the nine affected passengers, some required immediate medical attention. A woman suffered a head injury, while her two-year-old son sustained bruises. Another passenger, a 59-year-old woman, reported back pain. The three were transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. The remaining injured individuals received assistance at the landing site.
Ryanair’s Response
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ryanair confirmed that the aircraft’s captain had requested medical assistance before landing. The airline apologized to the affected passengers for the incident and took measures to mitigate the impact of the schedule change.
Among the actions taken were a bus service from Memmingen to Milan provided the same night of the landing, as well as a replacement flight that departed the following morning.
