ANA Holdings has taken a significant step in its fleet modernization and expansion strategy by signing a firm order with Airbus for 27 single-aisle aircraft. The deal includes 24 A321neo and three A321XLR models and was officially announced during the Paris Air Show 2025. The ceremony was led by Koji Shibata, President and CEO of ANAHD, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
Order Details: Renewal and Expansion
The order is split between the group’s two main airlines. All Nippon Airways (ANA) will add 14 new A321neo aircraft to its fleet, while its low-cost subsidiary, Peach Aviation, will introduce 10 A321neo models and debut three A321XLR units—making it the first Japanese airline to operate this aircraft type.

The A321XLR: Unprecedented Range
The Airbus A321XLR marks a major advancement in aviation, offering a range of up to 8,700 kilometers (4,700 nautical miles). This capability will enable Peach Aviation to operate longer non-stop routes, opening opportunities for new international connections from Japan with greater efficiency and lower emissions.
Koji Shibata celebrated the agreement, emphasizing its strategic value: “We are delighted to have finalized this order for additional A321neo aircraft and the first A321XLR for our group airlines. This fleet expansion strengthens our partnership with Airbus. We will accelerate the introduction of next-generation, highly efficient aircraft to deliver exceptional service to our passengers while reducing CO₂ emissions.”
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry of Airbus highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two companies: “From its first order in 1987 to a backlog nearing 100 aircraft, ANA has been a longstanding customer of the A320 family. Peach Aviation’s adoption of the A321XLR reaffirms ANA’s innovative spirit and trust in the unmatched capabilities of the A320 family.”
Current A320 Family Presence in ANA Group
Currently, ANA operates a fleet of 33 A320 family aircraft, while Peach Aviation has 36 units. With this new order, the group reinforces its position as a key Airbus operator in Asia, investing in a modern, efficient fleet ready to meet future demand in regional and international air travel markets.
