Air Canada is reinforcing its commitment to Latin America with a significant expansion of its 2025-2026 winter network. The airline will resume direct flights to Lima from Montreal and Toronto, while also introducing three new routes to destinations in Mexico and Central America: Puerto Escondido, Tepic, and Belize.
Return to Peru with Flights from Montreal and Toronto
The airline will resume operations to Lima with two weekly flights from both Canadian cities. Flight AC88 will depart from Montreal on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 18:00, arriving in the Peruvian capital at 02:15 the following day. The return flight, AC89, will leave Lima at 08:00, landing in Montreal at 16:20. This service will be available from December 6, 2025, to March 28, 2026.
From Toronto, flight AC86 will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing at 22:10 and arriving in Lima at 06:10 the next day. The return flight (AC87) will run on Thursdays and Sundays, departing at 08:00 and arriving in Toronto at 15:55. This route will be operational from December 5, 2025, to March 27, 2026.
New Routes to Paradise: Mexico and Belize Join the Map
Air Canada will also launch weekly flights to three new tourist destinations, all operating from December 17, 2025, to April 8, 2026:
Toronto – Puerto Escondido
Located on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido is a prime destination for surfers and beach lovers. Flights will depart from Toronto every Wednesday at 10:10, arriving at 13:43. The return flight will leave the same day at 14:45, landing in Canada at 21:24.

Vancouver – Tepic, Riviera Nayarit
With the recent development of a new highway connecting Tepic to Puerto Vallarta (scheduled to open in October 2025), this route offers an alternative gateway to explore the Riviera Nayarit. Flights from Vancouver will depart on Wednesdays at 09:45 and arrive at 15:45. The return flight will leave at 16:45, arriving in Vancouver at 20:55.
Tepic provides quick access to gems like San Pancho, Sayulita, and Punta Mita, all less than an hour from the airport.
Montreal – Belize
Belize, home to a stunning coral reef, is a haven for ecotourism. Air Canada will operate flights from Montreal every Monday at 17:45, arriving at 22:05. The return flight will depart on Tuesdays at 11:00, landing in Montreal at 16:40. This route will run from December 8, 2025, to April 7, 2026.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and President of Cargo at Air Canada, explained that this expansion is part of the airline’s “New Frontiers” strategy, aimed at diversifying its international network. The focus is on meeting the high demand for leisure destinations among Canadian and European travelers, while also creating opportunities for cargo transport.
“We are offering more attractive options for those planning their winter vacations. From Peru’s ancient history and Belize’s marine landscapes to Mexico’s emerging hotspots, we want to connect our passengers with unique experiences,” said Galardo.
