Air Canada Launches Seasonal Flights Between Montreal and Edinburgh

Air Canada inaugurated its new international route between Montreal and Edinburgh this Thursday, a connection that strengthens ties between Canada and the United Kingdom while expanding the airline’s transatlantic presence in one of the world’s most competitive markets.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, emphasized the significance of this new route: “We are proud to launch service between Montreal and Edinburgh, our latest addition to an increasingly robust transatlantic network. This connection deepens our commitment to the UK market. The flights are designed to offer seamless connections from across North America to Edinburgh through our Montreal hub.”

The route aims to cater to travelers eager to discover Scotland’s historic castles and vibrant arts scene, as well as Scottish visitors longing to explore Canada’s natural and cultural diversity.

Operational Details: Schedule and Frequency

Flights between Montreal and Edinburgh will operate seasonally, from June 26 to September 7, 2025, with a frequency of three weekly flights:

  • Montreal → Edinburgh
    Departure: 21:40
    Arrival: 09:05 the following day
    Operating Days: Monday, Thursday, Saturday
  • Edinburgh → Montreal
    Departure: 11:15
    Arrival: 13:35
    Operating Days: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday

A Busy Season of European Expansion

This new service joins a series of European routes launched by the airline for summer 2025. In recent months, Air Canada has introduced flights from Montreal to Porto, Toronto to Prague, celebrated the launch of its Naples route in May, and resumed service between Ottawa and London Heathrow in April.

The new Montreal-Edinburgh link is an invitation to cultural exchange and a gateway for travelers on both sides of the Atlantic to rediscover vibrant, historic destinations.
