Avianca has announced an expansion of its operations to Villavicencio, doubling its seating capacity on weekends by deploying Airbus A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 180 passengers. This move aims to strengthen connectivity with the Llano region during periods of high demand and challenges on the terrestrial route linking the area to Bogotá.
28 Weekly Flights and Over 3,600 Seats Available
The operational adjustment will provide passengers with a total of 28 flights and 3,660 seats by the end of this week. This figure represents a 24.5% increase in seat availability, a significant effort to meet the growing demand for air travel to and from Villavicencio.
This reinforcement complements the regular operations of Clic Air, Avianca’s partner airline, which operates three daily flights on the Bogotá–Villavicencio route.

Regulated Fares and Commitment to Passengers
Despite the increased capacity, Avianca maintains its fare ceiling, which includes taxes and fees, as part of its policy to ensure accessible air travel during critical times. The decision reflects the company’s declared commitment to preserving connectivity in the Llano region without passing additional costs to passengers.
“For years, Avianca has recognized Villavicencio’s need for consistent air connectivity. That is why we operate uninterrupted flights to the region and allocate our human and operational resources to offer more flights. This is not the first time we have taken such measures, and we will continue to do so whenever connectivity in the Llano is at risk,” stated Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
Ongoing Monitoring and Sustainable Approach
The airline confirmed it will continue to monitor the situation on the Llano route to adapt its operations as needed. It also reiterated its willingness to collaborate with other entities to provide sustainable solutions that benefit the community.
