Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has unveiled its new cabin concept, “SWISS Senses,” promising to redefine the in-flight experience across all classes. At an event held at Zurich Airport, the airline showcased its new First and Business Class seats, which will debut with the arrival of the Airbus A350-900 this fall.
First Confirmed Destination: Boston
SWISS’s first A350-900 aircraft will be delivered in October 2025. While initially deployed on European routes, intercontinental flights to Boston will commence this winter, with tickets available starting January 1, 2026. The choice of Massachusetts’ capital as the inaugural destination underscores its strategic importance for the airline.
A Design Focused on the Senses
The SWISS Senses concept represents the largest product investment in the company’s history. “We aim to deliver a more personal, exclusive, and individualized travel experience,” said Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer of the airline.
The redesign encompasses the entire aircraft interior, emphasizing high-quality materials and warm hues such as burgundy, anthracite, and beige to create a welcoming atmosphere. The human-centric lighting system is designed to mitigate jet lag, and all classes will feature an upgraded entertainment system with larger screens and connectivity for personal devices.

First Class: Privacy and Elegance

The new SWISS First Class introduces fully enclosed private suites with sliding doors, a personal wardrobe, an expansive table, seat climate control, wireless charging, and a panoramic screen. Additionally, the central suite can be adapted for passengers traveling together.
The exclusive lavatory for this class draws inspiration from the Vals Spring in the canton of Graubünden, featuring a slate-black exterior and a green interior reminiscent of fresh, relaxing water.
Business Class: Versatility and Total Comfort

SWISS Business Class has been redesigned to accommodate diverse needs. It includes traditional seats as well as options with enhanced privacy via sliding doors. All seats can convert into fully flat beds ranging from 2.0 to 2.2 meters in length, equipped with climate control and wireless charging. The overall ambiance is distinguished by premium materials and warm tones.
Premium Economy: Proven Comfort

SWISS Premium Economy remains unchanged due to its high popularity. With a seat pitch of nearly one meter, it continues to set the standard for comfort and quality in its category.
Economy Class: Smart Redesign

The Economy cabin has also been refreshed with more ergonomic and functional seats that optimize personal space. Each seat features a high-resolution screen over 13 inches, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB ports.
Gradual Implementation Across the Fleet
All new Airbus A350-900 aircraft will be delivered with the SWISS Senses design. Additionally, this concept will be progressively rolled out across the Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that currently comprise the airline’s long-haul fleet.
