Iberia has achieved a record-breaking milestone in its operations between Europe and Latin America in 2025: over 5.5 million seats offered throughout the year, a 5% increase compared to the 5.3 million seats in 2024. This growth solidifies the airline’s position as the leader in transatlantic connectivity and marks a significant milestone ahead of the 80th anniversary of its first flight across the Atlantic.
With this momentum, Iberia will operate more than 350 weekly flights crossing the ocean between the two regions, surpassing the 330 frequencies reached during certain periods the previous year.
“A Strong Commitment to the Region”
Marina Colunga, Iberia’s Commercial Director for Latin America, emphasized the strategic importance of this growth: “We are very proud to present these connectivity figures between Latin America and Europe, which help us further consolidate our strong leadership position between the two regions and reinforce our status as the preferred choice for crossing this air corridor.”
Colunga noted that Iberia’s relationship with Latin America dates back decades and that this new record reflects a sustained and strategic commitment to the region.

Key Growth in Latin American Markets
The increased capacity is reflected in substantial growth across several of the airline’s strategic markets:
- Peru: Iberia has reached two daily flights.
- Chile: The airline will end the year with 12 weekly frequencies.
- Puerto Rico: Up to 11 weekly flights will be offered.
- Dominican Republic: Two daily flights, except for one day per week.
These adjustments complement other growth milestones in late 2025:
- Buenos Aires: Three daily flights.
- São Paulo: Two daily flights.
Additionally, routes to Mexico City and Bogotá remain robust, with three daily flights each.
Frequencies by Destination in Latin America
Iberia continues to cover the continent with a broad and consistent network:
- Montevideo, Quito, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Costa Rica: One daily flight.
- Rio de Janeiro and Caracas: Five weekly frequencies.
- Panama City, Havana, and Guayaquil: Three weekly flights.
Starting December 13, the airline will launch a new route to Recife, Brazil, with three weekly flights. This addition expands Iberia’s coverage in the Brazilian market, one of the most important for the group.
“Hola Madrid” Stopover: Adding Value to the Journey
Alongside this growth, Iberia has seen increased use of its “Hola Madrid” program, which allows Latin American passengers to enjoy an extended layover of up to nine nights in the Spanish capital at no additional cost.
The program includes benefits for accommodations, dining, leisure, and transportation, applicable on both outbound and return flights to other destinations in Iberia’s European or global network.
