LOT Polish Airlines has unveiled the first designs of the cabins that will debut in its future fleet of Airbus A220 aircraft, scheduled to enter service in 2027. This is a strategic move through which the airline aims to enhance the onboard experience on short- and medium-haul flights by combining state-of-the-art technology and a design focused on passenger comfort.

Two Service Classes and More Space per Passenger

LOT’s A220s will be configured with two cabins: Economy Class and Business Class. In the latter, passengers will enjoy exclusive services, access to VIP lounges, and increased baggage allowance, reinforcing the company’s premium offering.

Depending on the aircraft variant, capacity will range from 125 seats in the A220-100 to 149 seats in the A220-300. The 2-3 seating layout per row ensures more personal space, while the seats, at 18 inches wide, exceed the industry average and promise greater comfort even on longer flights.

Technology and Design at the Service of the Passenger

Each seat will be manufactured by RECARO, a global leader in aircraft interiors, at its plant in Świebodzin. LOT will incorporate the R2 model—a lightweight, ergonomic seat with device support, a 60W USB-C charging port, and an integrated cup holder.

The onboard experience will be enhanced by a quieter cabin environment, thanks to its insulating design and the incorporation of Airbus’s Airspace concept. This introduces a more intuitive layout, adaptive LED lighting that adjusts to the phase of the flight, and larger windows that allow more natural light and improve visibility. Additionally, the overhead bins will offer increased storage capacity, streamlining the boarding process and reducing the time passengers take to stow their belongings.

Connectivity and New Features

LOT plans to introduce onboard Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing passengers to stay connected via messaging apps or continue working from the aircraft.

“The A220 sets a new travel standard for LOT. With greater comfort, quieter cabins, and modern technology, every flight will be even more pleasant. These aircraft are designed with our passengers in mind,” said Izabela Leszczyńska, Director of Product Development and Customer Experience at LOT Polish Airlines.

The arrival of the Airbus A220 represents a qualitative leap in LOT Polish Airlines’ fleet and strengthens its role as a key player in the European market.
