The Dominican airline Arajet celebrated the arrival of its twelfth aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, during an event attended by the President of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Héctor Porcella, and the airline’s CEO and founder, Víctor Pacheco Méndez.
The company, which is steadily advancing the modernization of its fleet, has chosen to pay tribute to one of the Dominican Republic’s natural and cultural symbols: La Caleta, located in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo.
La Caleta: A Natural and Tourist Heritage Site
The new aircraft bears the name La Caleta, known for its Underwater National Park—a premier attraction for diving enthusiasts in the Caribbean. In addition to its marine richness, the area retains high ecological and historical value, making it a key destination within the country’s tourism offerings.

This tribute reflects our mission to connect the Dominican Republic with the world, while promoting sustainable tourism and the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage,” stated Víctor Pacheco, CEO of the airline.
Arajet Strengthens Its Vision as the Caribbean Hub
With this addition, the airline reaffirms its strategy of establishing the Dominican Republic as the logistical and air connectivity hub of the Caribbean. Its modern and efficient fleet not only expands routes and improves connectivity, but also ensures competitive fares, bringing the country closer to more markets and facilitating access for new travelers.
