Canadian airline Air Transat announced an ambitious expansion of its route network for the summer of 2026 this Wednesday. The company will introduce new exclusive routes connecting Quebec City with Marseille and Ottawa with London-Gatwick, in addition to extending operations to the Caribbean and Latin America year-round.

These initiatives are part of the airline’s growth plan to strengthen its presence in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, offering passengers more flexibility and a greater variety of travel options.

“Summer 2026 is already shaping up to be an exceptional season,” stated Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We are accelerating our growth in Quebec City, launching our first transatlantic route from Ottawa, and expanding our international connections. This is just the beginning of a season full of exciting news.”

New Routes from Quebec

From May 21 to October 8, 2026, Air Transat will operate a weekly non-stop flight between Quebec City and Marseille, every Thursday. This exclusive connection offers direct access to the South of France and complements the high demand for the Quebec City-Paris route.

Furthermore, the new Quebec City-Fort-de-France service, launching on December 14, 2025, will be extended through the summer with a weekly flight on Mondays. This ensures year-round access to Martinique, one of the most popular destinations in the French Caribbean.

Ottawa Connects with London and Montreal

For the first time, Air Transat will offer non-stop transatlantic flights from Ottawa to London-Gatwick, starting May 15, 2026. The service will operate three times per week—on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays—solidifying the Canadian capital as a strategic point in its international network.

A new Ottawa-Montreal connection will also be added, available from May 5 to October 23, 2026, allowing travelers to more easily access Air Transat’s entire portfolio of routes.

Southern Routes Operating Year-Round

Starting in the summer of 2026, Air Transat will convert several seasonal routes into permanent services, strengthening its offering to sun and beach destinations from Montreal and Toronto.

  • Montreal – Cartagena – Medellín | Frequency: 1 flight per week | Operating Days: Thursday
  • Montreal – Pointe-à-Pitre | Frequency: 2 flights per week | Operating Days: Tuesday and Saturday
  • Montreal – San Jose, Costa Rica | Frequency: 2 flights per week | Operating Days: Monday and Friday
  • Toronto – Cartagena – Medellín | Frequency: 1 flight per week | Operating Days: Wednesday

The Montreal-Cartagena connection will become an annual service and will extend its operation to Medellín, replicating the model of the future Toronto-Cartagena-Medellín route, which is scheduled to begin on November 2. Both routes will allow travelers to enjoy both the Caribbean beaches and the cultural and urban atmosphere of Medellín, an increasingly relevant destination in South America.

The new flights are already available for booking, and Air Transat announced that in the coming weeks it will reveal more updates as part of the rollout of its Summer 2026 program.
