British regional airline Eastern Airways has suspended its operations, as confirmed by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The decision affects all scheduled flights and thousands of passengers who had already booked with the company.
Complete Shutdown of Operations and Cancelled Flights
According to the CAA, Eastern Airways, which operated regional services from six UK airports, has cancelled all of its flights.
The regulatory body issued a statement warning travellers: “Eastern Airways, which operated regional services from airports across the UK, has suspended operations. All flights operated by Eastern Airways are now cancelled. Therefore, we urge passengers not to go to the airports, as the flights will not operate.”
Passengers holding tickets with the airline have been urged not to travel to airports and to seek alternative transport options with other airlines, trains, or bus companies.

Affected Airports
Eastern Airways had regular routes from London Gatwick, Humberside, Teesside International, Aberdeen, Wick, and Newquay airports.
Its business model focused on connecting regions within the UK, offering quick links between cities with limited air coverage.
CAA Recommendations for Passengers
The CAA’s Director of Consumers and Markets, Selina Chadha, issued a direct message to users:
“We ask passengers who were planning to fly with this airline not to go to the airport, as all Eastern Airways flights are cancelled. Customers should visit the Civil Aviation Authority’s website for the latest information.”
The CAA has made updated information available on its official website to guide those affected on the available options and steps to follow following the suspension.
