The Canadian airline Air Transat has announced the addition of two new international destinations to its summer 2026 program: Dakar, Senegal, and Reykjavik, Iceland. Both routes will operate from Montreal, adding to a network that already includes over 45 international destinations.

Montreal–Dakar: A Direct Cultural Connection

The route to Dakar will be available from June 17 to October 21, 2026, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. According to Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer, this connection responds to the strong presence of the Senegalese diaspora in Quebec and the growing interest in African culture.

“We are the only Canadian airline connecting Canada with Sub-Saharan Africa,” Ponce highlighted. “This direct flight makes travel easier for those who previously had to endure long layovers in Europe, and it connects two open, warm, and welcoming cultures.”

Valencia Doubles Frequencies Following 2025 Success

Air Transat will also increase the frequency of its route to Valencia, Spain, which was launched in the summer of 2025. From June 16 to September 8, 2026, two weekly flights will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, in response to the growing demand for this Mediterranean destination.
