Star Alliance was named World’s Leading Airline Alliance 2025 at the World Travel Awards, continuing a winning streak that now totals six consecutive years. The announcement was made during the Grand Final Gala Ceremony, held in Bahrain, and highlighted the organization’s constant work to provide a seamless journey at every stage of travel, from booking to connections and loyalty programs.
An Award That Reflects Traveler Trust
The alliance’s CEO, Theo Panagiotoulias, expressed his satisfaction upon receiving the award. He stated that the result demonstrates the trust of passengers and industry professionals and emphasized that the primary goal has always been to simplify the user experience. He also thanked the commitment of the teams at each member airline, as well as the staff at the headquarters, who are responsible for making that standard possible day after day.
Ground Experience Also Receives Praise
Throughout the year, the organization achieved another notable accomplishment. The Star Alliance Los Angeles Airport Lounge was selected for the sixth time as North America’s Leading Airport Lounge. The recognition values its comfortable ambiance, design, and the details that travelers often highlight in their feedback.
A Benchmark in the Industry’s Most Important Awards
The World Travel Awards, celebrating their 32nd edition, distinguish excellence in travel, tourism, and hospitality. Winners are selected through a global vote that includes qualified industry executives and travel service buyers. Their founder, Graham E. Cooke, congratulated Star Alliance on a performance that, he stated, continues to set standards within the industry by offering top-tier experiences and great operational consistency.
Recognitions for Member Airlines
In addition to the award granted to the alliance, several companies that are part of Star Alliance were distinguished in individual categories. Among them are the titles of World’s Leading Airline to Asia and World’s Leading Airline to Europe, which reinforce the collective quality that the network offers to those traveling across different continents.
