Aerolíneas Argentinas has taken a new step in expanding its international network with the launch of direct flights between Buenos Aires and Aruba, one of the Caribbean’s most sought-after destinations. The airline also confirmed that, thanks to high demand recorded, the service will be extended beyond the summer season, running through the end of September.
An Inaugural Flight with Full Occupancy
The new route officially began on Sunday night. The aircraft departed from Ezeiza International Airport at midnight and landed in Aruba in the early hours of Monday. The debut did not go unnoticed: all 170 available seats were fully occupied, a clear indicator of the Argentine market’s interest in this Caribbean destination.
Frequencies Planned for High Season
During the peak tourist period, the island will enjoy enhanced connectivity from Argentina. It is scheduled to receive three weekly services from Buenos Aires, plus one flight from Córdoba and another from Mendoza, thereby expanding options for passengers from the country’s interior.
Operation Extended Until September
In response to the strong public interest since the initial announcement, Aerolíneas Argentinas confirmed the continuation of the route through the end of September. This extension will include flights from both Buenos Aires and Córdoba, solidifying the company’s presence in the Caribbean beyond the summer.

An Inauguration Marked by a Prior Incident
It is worth recalling that on Saturday, the departure of the first scheduled flight to Queen Beatrix International Airport in Oranjestad had to be suspended. The cancellation was due to operational limitations related to the conflict in Venezuela, a situation that affected all airlines flying in the region.
Scheduling and Aircraft Types
Starting in May, the schedule includes four weekly frequencies from Buenos Aires to Aruba, adding an additional flight. These operations will take place on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This is in addition to a weekly frequency from Córdoba, scheduled on Thursdays. All services are operated with Boeing 737-MAX aircraft, state-of-the-art planes renowned for their greater efficiency, lower fuel consumption, and a more comfortable travel experience for passengers.
Aruba, an Increasingly Popular Destination
The island is positioning itself as one of the Caribbean’s most attractive destinations thanks to its stable year-round climate, international recognition for having the region’s best beach, a diverse and multicultural culinary offering, and a commercial proposition with competitive prices. Regarding entry requirements, Argentine travelers only need a valid passport, must complete the ED Card (digital embarkation card), and present a return ticket along with confirmed accommodation, with no visa required for tourist stays.
More Options for Argentine Travelers
With the addition of Aruba to its network, Aerolíneas Argentinas gains a new Caribbean destination and expands the available travel alternatives. This move responds to the growing passenger demand for different tourist offerings and reinforces the company’s strategy of strengthening its presence in high-demand international markets.
