Emirates and Air Peace have announced the activation of a bilateral interline agreement, expanding and deepening the existing cooperation between the two airlines. This move strengthens links between West Africa, Dubai, and London, with clear implications for both corporate passengers and the structural development of air traffic in the region.

The agreement enables travel on a single ticket with checked baggage through to the final destination on selected routes of both carriers. Beyond enhancing the passenger experience, this announcement consolidates Lagos as a key regional connection hub, reinforces Emirates’ African strategy, and positions Air Peace as a partner with global reach.

More African Destinations Connected to Emirates’ Global Network

Expansion Beyond Nigeria

Until now, Emirates passengers could connect to 13 cities within Nigeria via Air Peace’s domestic network. With the activation of the interline agreement, reach is significantly extended into West and Central Africa:

  • Banjul (The Gambia) and Dakar (Senegal) via Abidjan
  • Freetown (Sierra Leone) and Monrovia (Liberia) via Accra

These new gateways allow more African passengers to access Emirates’ product and global network while also facilitating international travelers’ arrival into traditionally less-connected markets via an integrated and simplified itinerary.

Dubai and London as Long-Haul Hubs

Integration with Key Intercontinental Markets

The agreement also enables Air Peace to connect its regional network in West and Central Africa to Emirates’ hub in Dubai, providing access to a vast number of the Emirati airline’s intercontinental destinations.

Key destinations highlighted in the interline scheme include:

  • London Heathrow
  • London Gatwick
  • London Stansted
  • Lagos, Abidjan, and Accra

The inclusion of the three London airports is significant. Historically, there has been high demand between Nigeria and the United Kingdom for commercial, cultural, and family reasons. The agreement expands itinerary options, improves flexibility, and reduces friction for the end passenger.

Statements Reflecting a Shared Strategic Vision

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, underlined the agreement’s strategic value:

“Enhancing our interline partnership with Air Peace allows us to expand our footprint across more of Africa, creating new opportunities for people to fly better with Emirates, while helping international tourists explore more of the region, via Lagos.”

Kazim also noted Emirates’ commitment to strengthening the aviation, tourism, and commerce sectors in Nigeria, supported by local strategic partners.

For his part, Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Peace, defined the agreement as a milestone in the Nigerian airline’s strategy:

“This interline agreement with Emirates represents a major step in Air Peace’s strategic vision to connect Africa more efficiently to global markets.”

Ngala emphasized that combining a strong regional presence with a world-class international network allows for seamless connectivity and positions Air Peace as a critical bridge between Africa and the global aviation ecosystem.

Product, Fleet, and Onboard Experience: Two Complementary Models

Emirates: Long-Haul Premium Service to Nigeria

Emirates operates the Dubai-Lagos route with a Boeing 777-300ER, offering one of the most comprehensive products available in the Nigerian market. The experience includes:

  • Multi-course menus inspired by regional flavors, designed by award-winning chefs
  • An extensive selection of premium beverages
  • Over 6,500 entertainment channels on the ice system, including Nollywood classics

It is noteworthy that Emirates is one of only two airlines operating a First Class cabin in Nigeria, a relevant differentiator for corporate and high-value traffic.

Air Peace: African Regional Strength

Air Peace boasts a fleet of over 50 aircraft, including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer jets, and operates an expanding network of domestic, regional, and international services.

The airline maintains an explicit focus on strengthening intra-African connectivity, with messaging aligned to objectives of economic development, trade, and tourism on the continent.

The activation of the interline agreement between Emirates and Air Peace goes beyond an operational improvement for passengers. It reflects a long-term strategy that combines the strength of a major global operator with the expertise and extensive reach of a leading African airline.
