Tocumen International Airport has officially received recognition as the “World’s Most Punctual Medium Airport,” a distinction awarded by Cirium, a global firm specializing in aviation industry data analysis.
This marks the second consecutive year that Panama’s primary air terminal has secured this position, consolidating an operational performance that combines sustained growth with high standards of efficiency.
A 93.34% Punctuality Index Raising the Standard
According to the Cirium On-Time Performance Review 2025, Tocumen achieved a punctuality index of 93.34%, surpassing the 90.34% recorded in 2024.
This indicator is considered one of the most demanding and transparent in the aviation industry. It measures more than just schedule compliance; it has become a key parameter for evaluating the systemic efficiency of an airport, including:
- Apron coordination.
- Slot management.
- Airline performance.
- Air traffic control.
- Synchronization of ground services.
This result positions Tocumen as a global leader in its category, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable and competitive regional hub.
