The Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia (Aerocivil) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have formalized a strategic alliance to enhance the monitoring and allocation of airport slots (takeoff and landing timeframes). This initiative aims to ensure transparency and operational efficiency at El Dorado International Airport, aligning national management with the most demanding global industry standards.

Strengthening Technical Monitoring and Global Standards

A high-level meeting between the Director of Aerocivil, Luis Alfonso Martínez Chimenty, and IATA’s General Manager in Colombia, Paula Bernal, confirmed that the country will remain aligned with international protocols regarding slot management. To achieve this, the creation of a specialized technical monitoring team operating within the aeronautical authority has been announced.
