Delta Air Lines is consolidating its position as the premier carrier at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Through an ambitious increase in its winter schedule, the airline will offer unprecedented connectivity to Florida, alongside the launch of strategic routes to Asia and high-demand domestic markets.
Strategic Expansion in the LAX–Florida Corridor
For the 2026 winter season, Delta has designed its largest-ever seat offering between Los Angeles and Florida. This expansion is aimed at meeting the high demand for both leisure and business travel in one of the busiest corridors in the United States.
Starting in November 2026, the airline will reach an operational milestone with 12 daily departures and a total of 2,328 seats on peak days to the “Sunshine State.” Key changes include:
- Palm Beach International Airport: Inauguration of new nonstop service starting November 20, 2026.
- Tampa International Airport: Expansion to three daily flights year-round, beginning November 9, 2026.
- Orlando International Airport: Increase in service to five daily flights starting November 20, 2026.
In-Flight Experience with the Airbus A321neo
All of these routes will be operated using the Airbus A321neo, the most modern narrow-body aircraft in Delta’s fleet. these units feature the company’s latest cabin interiors and offer free, high-speed Wi-Fi for SkyMiles loyalty program members.

- Hong Kong: Commencement of daily nonstop flights on June 6, 2026.
- Chicago O’Hare: Launch of three daily flights starting June 7, 2026.
These additions build upon the international growth experienced last year, during which the airline added direct routes to Melbourne, Australia, and Shanghai, China, reinforcing Los Angeles’ importance as one of its primary global gateways.
Delta’s Dominance in the Los Angeles Market
As the largest operator at LAX, Delta’s infrastructure and network boast robust figures that define mobility in the region:
- 166 departures on peak travel days.
- Direct service to 61 domestic and international destinations.
- 20 international routes operated in conjunction with its partner airlines.
- A presence in the top 10 high-demand cities from Los Angeles, including New York (JFK), Boston, Atlanta, and Washington D.C.
Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning, emphasized that these additions aim to provide greater flexibility and options for customers, reflecting the company’s momentum in the region and its commitment as the Official Airline of Team USA ahead of the upcoming global events hosted by the city.
Delta’s investment in Los Angeles translates into a more robust network that efficiently connects transcontinental and international markets.
