Brazilian carrier Gol Linhas Aereas will operate a new direct air route between Salta, Argentina, and Rio de Janeiro starting December 17, 2026.
Salta Consolidates as Northern Argentina’s Primary Hub
The official presentation of the new air link was led by the Governor of Salta Province, Gustavo Saenz, alongside Gol Linhas Aereas’ International Development Manager, Luciano Arizada. With this announcement, Rio de Janeiro becomes Salta’s fourth international route, joining existing operations to Lima, Asuncion, and Panama City.
“For the first time in history, our province will have a direct connection to Rio de Janeiro. Enhanced connectivity means more inbound tourism, greater economic activity, more jobs, and more opportunities for the people of Salta,” Governor Saenz stated.
