Porter Airlines inaugurated its non-stop service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport this Thursday. This new route represents a strategic step to strengthen international connectivity for the Central Texas region while simultaneously expanding the Canadian carrier’s North American network.
The new service will operate on a year-round, regular schedule with five weekly frequencies. This route not only offers a direct connection for travelers in the Austin area but also opens a wide array of options for beyond connectivity within Porter Airlines’ domestic network in Canada.
Onboard Experience: The Embraer E195-E2 Differentiator
The flights will be operated using the airline’s modern fleet of Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. With this equipment, Porter Airlines aims to position its “elevated economy experience” concept in the Texan market, which is characterized by a cabin configuration with no middle seats.
Amenities Included in the Fare:
- Connectivity: Free high-speed Wi-Fi access.
- Comfort: Power outlets available at every seat.
- Catering: Complimentary snacks and beverages, including beer and wine served in real glassware.
Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, highlighted the potential of the Texan market: “Austin is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing cities in North America, making it an ideal fit for Porter’s expanding flight network. This route opens up new opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange.”
