This operational expansion underscores the airline’s long-term commitment to the local market, focusing on bolstering nationwide connectivity.

Strategic Consolidation and Growth in the Peruvian Market

With the addition of Cajamarca and Talara, which become the carrier’s 16th and 17th destinations within Peruvian borders, the airline projects a solid increase in its key performance indicators by year-end:

Operational Details: Lima – Cajamarca

The route directly connecting the capital city with Cajamarca will officially launch operations on September 1, 2026. According to company scheduling, the service will operate on a daily frequency, with projections to transport an estimated average of 9,000 passengers per month.

Seasonal Operation: Lima – Talara

Unlike the former, the connection between Lima and Talara will be managed under a seasonal operational model, specifically scheduled between October 2, 2026, and February 28, 2027.

Monthly Evolution of Flight Frequencies

To adapt to market behavior ahead of the peak travel season, the schedule will progressively ramp up frequencies:

Under this frequency structure, the airline projects transporting over 30,000 passengers throughout the entire holiday season.

Jose Raul Vargas, General Manager of SKY in Peru, highlighted that these route openings reflect the ongoing growth opportunities offered by the Peruvian market. The executive emphasized that while Cajamarca strengthens the carrier’s offering toward a region with high corporate potential, Talara directly caters to the steady leisure demand for northern beach destinations during peak season months.

With the inauguration of Chiclayo in July, followed by the debut in Cajamarca during September and the seasonal operation in Talara starting in October, the airline will achieve substantial milestones in its domestic expansion plan outlined for the second half of 2026.
