LATAM Airlines Brasil operated its inaugural non-stop flight between São Paulo and Ushuaia on Wednesday, marking the official launch of a key route aimed at boosting air connectivity between Argentina and the South American giant. This new seasonal operation is designed to directly stimulate inbound tourism to the Tierra del Fuego province during the winter peak season.
Flight Operations and International Connectivity
The inaugural flight departed from Guarulhos International Airport with over 190 passengers on board, touching down in the southernmost Argentine city at 14:42.
This new air route will be available throughout the winter season, remaining operational until August 31. Services will be frequency-scheduled at four times per week utilizing Airbus A321 family aircraft, which feature a maximum capacity of 209 passengers.

Flight Schedule and Timings
Frequencies are distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under the following schedule:
- São Paulo – Ushuaia | Departure: 08:15 — Arrival: 14:00
- Ushuaia – São Paulo | Departure: 15:05 — Arrival: 20:25
“Today is a highly anticipated day for connectivity between Argentina and Brazil. Ushuaia is a destination that Brazilian tourists choose year after year to experience the snow, and with this direct flight, we are building a bridge between both countries. Every new frequency we add translates to more visitors, increased local consumption, and more jobs for the country,” said Florencia Scardaccione, Commercial Manager for LATAM in Argentina.
Consolidation of LATAM’s Regional Winter Network
In addition to adding Ushuaia to its seasonal route network, LATAM Airlines Brasil continues to maintain its connectivity offering to other traditional ski and winter destinations in the country. The carrier continues to operate regular non-stop flights between São Paulo and Bariloche.
This route to Bariloche commenced operations on June 15 with a daily frequency, utilizing Airbus A320 family aircraft. To cater to the high demand expected in July and August, the airline will scale up capacity to this destination to 10 weekly flights, a reinforced schedule that will remain in place until August 30.
