As part of the Panamanian government’s strategy to boost international air connectivity and promote development in the country’s interior regions, the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), the Tourism Promotion Fund (PROMTUR Panama), wholesale travel agency On Vacation, and low-cost carrier Wingo have formalized a strategic commercial alliance. This partnership will launch a direct route between El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and Scarlett Martínez International Airport in Río Hato, with scheduled operations set to begin on October 5, 2026.

The new air link aims to channel demand from the Colombian market directly to Panama’s Pacific Riviera, a region defined by its growth potential and a strong mix of nature, hospitality offerings, and beach tourism.

“At Wingo, we are constantly seeking to develop new connectivity opportunities that allow travelers to discover high-potential holiday destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean. Río Hato is a clear example of that commitment: with this service, we will be the sole airline offering direct flights between Colombia and this destination, bringing travelers closer to the Panamanian Pacific Riviera while driving tourism growth in a region with extraordinary beaches, nature, and resorts.”
Eduardo Lombana, CEO of Wingo.

Operational Details and Capacity

The direct flight operations will be executed exclusively by Wingo, establishing the carrier as the only airline offering point-to-point service between Colombia and Río Hato.
