Air connectivity in the northwestern Iberian Peninsula is set to expand before the end of the year. Fly2Galicia will begin scheduled operations on December 1 from Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, connecting the Galician capital to eight key destinations across Spain and Europe, according to El Correo Gallego.
The confirmed flight schedule includes:
- Alicante: 3 weekly frequencies
- Zaragoza: 2 weekly frequencies
- Granada: 2 weekly frequencies
- Brussels: 2 weekly frequencies
- Munich: 2 weekly frequencies
- Milan-Malpensa: 2 weekly frequencies
- Prague: 2 weekly frequencies
- Venice: 2 weekly frequencies
In total, the carrier’s network comprises 17 weekly outbound flights from Santiago de Compostela. Company officials confirmed that the necessary airport slots for this launch have been approved and secured at the respective terminals.
Corporate Structure and ACMI (Wet Lease) Operating Model
Unlike traditional airline models, Fly2Galicia will not operate under its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) issued by Spain’s State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). Project backers have opted to structure the business through an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) wet-lease agreement with an established, certified European airline.

Under this operational model:
- The contracted European air operator will provide the aircraft, flight crews, line maintenance, and insurance, while operating under its own commercial license and AOC. Due to contractual confidentiality, the operator’s identity will be disclosed at a later date.
- Fly2Galicia will manage commercial operations, ticket distribution, strategic route development, and product branding under its own identity.
The legal entity behind the venture is Aviation & Mobility Services Group S.L., registered in the Commercial Registry as a travel agency. Corporate management noted that it does not plan to modify its classification code under the National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE) or establish a new corporate entity for direct air operations, though the corporate structure may evolve based on future growth.
Fleet Specifications, Operating Base, and Job Creation
While initial public communications referenced the use of a Boeing 737-800, final planning has shifted to an Airbus A320 narrowbody aircraft. The jet will be permanently based at Santiago’s Lavacolla Airport, operating all 17 weekly scheduled frequencies for the inaugural season.
Regarding local economic impact, management estimates the creation of approximately 25 direct jobs ahead of launch, spanning flight crew and ground staff positions.
Commercial Strategy and Fare Policies
Ticket sales opened Tuesday on the brand’s official web platform, covering the initial commercial schedule with flights available through October 24, 2027.
The fare structure features promotional tickets starting at €19, depending on route and availability. The commercial model uses tiered branded fares, ranging from a basic Economy fare to flexible options and Business Class.
Under the baggage policy, the lowest basic fare includes at no extra charge:
- One personal item (such as a backpack)
- One cabin bag weighing up to 8 kilograms
Higher fare tiers include perks such as priority boarding, advance seat selection, checked baggage allowances, and flight change flexibility.
Looking ahead to next year’s summer season, Fly2Galicia plans to add a second aircraft to its Lavacolla base. This capacity expansion will enable new domestic and international routes to complement the initial schedule through October 2027, strengthening the brand’s presence in the northwestern Iberian market.
