LATAM to Expand International Connectivity With New Direct Route Between Santiago de Chile and Salvador de Bahia

LATAM Airlines Brasil has announced the addition of a new direct international service linking Santiago de Chile with Salvador de Bahia International Airport in Brazil. The operation will officially launch on January 3, 2027, bolstering the carrier’s footprint in Brazil’s Northeast region and optimizing tourist passenger flows between both nations.

During the Southern Hemisphere’s peak summer season, the airline will operate the route with an initial frequency of three weekly flights. Subsequently, starting in March 2027, the service will consolidate into a regular weekly frequency.

Flight Schedule

Departures and arrivals are scheduled to maximize connectivity at both ends of the route:

The route will be served by Airbus A320 family aircraft, configured in a two-class layout:

All cabins feature access to LATAM Play, the carrier’s inflight entertainment platform that allows passengers to stream movies, series, music, and various media directly to their personal mobile devices.

“The new route between Salvador and Santiago marks a major milestone in LATAM’s international connectivity expansion from Brazil. We are bringing together two markets with strong tourism demand and creating a faster, direct option for both Brazilians and Chileans, broadening our international network in the Northeast and strengthening direct ties with Chile,” said Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brasil.

With this addition to its transborder network, LATAM solidifies its strategic positioning across the South American aviation market.
