Air Transat Inaugurates Nonstop Flights Between Montreal and Istanbul

Air Transat has launched nonstop operations between Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Istanbul. This new year-round service strengthens the Canadian carrier’s transatlantic network and expands travel options to Turkey and connecting markets beyond.

The route will operate year-round with up to two weekly flights, positioning itself as a vital direct link to meet travel demand between both metropolises.

This new route complements the carrier’s existing service between Toronto and Istanbul, launched in December 2025, strategically reinforcing Air Transat’s market presence and competitiveness in Turkey.

Connectivity and Codeshare Agreements

The launch of this service not only accommodates point-to-point traffic, but also enhances the global reach of Canadian passengers through operational cooperation with Turkey’s flag carrier.

Commenting on the addition of this destination to the network, Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, highlighted that expanding the carrier’s offering out of Montreal means adding destinations with rich cultural and historical appeal, which, combined with Turkish Airlines’ connectivity, unlocks a superior range of travel options.

With the rollout of this scheduled year-round service, Air Transat reaffirms its commitment to strengthening connectivity from its Montreal hub, securing a strategic gateway to the Middle East and Asia via the Istanbul mega-hub.
