Japan’s ANA will suspend 16 international routes the summer.
Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) said Tuesday it would suspend 16 international routes and reduce service on three others over the summer as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to restrict travel worldwide.
Among the suspended routes are 10 from Tokyo’s Narita Airport (NRT) to Chennai (MMA), Dusseldorf (DUS), Jakarta (CGK), Mumbai (BOM), New York John F Kennedy (JFK), Perth (PER), Phnom Penh (PNH), San Francisco (SFO), Taipei (TPE) and Vladivostok (VVO).

In announcing its tentative flight schedule for the fiscal year beginning in April, ANA indicated that domestic routes would be the main source of revenue for fiscal 2021 as it reorganizes routes to match travel demand, Reuters reviewed.
ANA’s new flight schedule covers the period from March 28 to October 30, which coincides with the Tokyo Olympics, due to start on July 23.
The airline said it would adjust the schedule as needed on a monthly basis, adding that it would continue to monitor demand and may resume or increase flights.
