LATAM receives first Airbus A320neo since beginning of the pandemic
LATAM Group is preparing to receive in the last week of June this year the first Airbus A320neo (registration PR-XBI) to be delivered to the company since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be the seventh aircraft of this model in LATAM’s fleet in Brazil and the Group’s fourteenth, at a time of recovery in the airline industry and growth in travel demand. The last factory-new aircraft had been delivered by Airbus to the company in December 2019.

“LATAM’s addition of another A320neo aircraft is fully aligned with our strategy to expand our efficiency and competitiveness. This aircraft features state-of-the-art engines, sharklets and an innovative cabin, making it the most comfortable, fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly single-aisle aircraft,” said Harley Meneses, LATAM Brazil’s Chief Operating Officer.
The LATAM group currently has a fleet of 299 Boeing (767, 777 and 787 models) and Airbus (A321, A320, A320neo and A319 models) aircraft. In addition, LATAM Cargo Chile, LATAM Cargo Colombia and LATAM Cargo Brazil also have a combined fleet of 14 freighter aircraft, which will gradually expand to a total of 21 freighters by 2023.
