Volotea adds three new Airbus A320 to its fleet

Spanish airline Volotea starts the year with the addition of three Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet, in response to the increase in capacity and the new routes announced for this year.

With these additions, the company will have a total of 44 aircraft: 20 Airbus A319 and 24 A320 aircraft.

The three new aircraft will start flying in April, when the summer season begins.

The airline expects to offer between 12.5 and 13 million seats (12% to 16% more by 2023), 12 million passengers and around 80,000 flights, all with a workforce that will reach 2,000 people this year.

“We are very proud to continue to grow in line with the expansion plans we had planned for this year and to do so hand in hand with Airbus as a partner,” said Stephen Rapp, Volotea’s Chief Financial Officer.

Volotea serves more than 110 airports in Europe, its main markets are France, Italy and Spain, and has bases in 21 small and medium-sized European cities: Asturias, Athens, Bari, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Brest, Cagliari, Florence, Hamburg, Lille, Lyon, Lourdes, Marseille, Nantes, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Venice and Verona. The bases of Brest, in Brittany, France, and Bari, in Puglia, Italy, will be added as a new addition in 2024 and continue to add to the expansion planned by the company this year.
