American Airlines inaugurates flights between Phoenix and Tijuana, Mexico
American Airlines inaugurated Thursday its new nonstop service between Phoenix Sky Harbor and Tijuana, Mexico, further strengthening the airline’s presence in Baja California’s most populous city.
The route will operate daily on Embraer 175 aircraft, with capacity for 76 passengers.

“American Airlines marks a milestone by inaugurating the new nonstop route between Tijuana and the United States through our Phoenix hub. By linking these two cities, we not only establish better connections, but also strengthen our more than 80-year commitment to Mexico,” said José María Giraldo, General Manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
With this new service, American will be the only airline connecting Tijuana with the United States.
Connecting Veracruz and Tulum with Dallas-Fort Worth
American recently announced new daily service to Veracruz from Dallas-Fort Worth, beginning June 12, making it the airline’s 28th destination in the country.
Additionally, on March 28, the airline will launch new nonstop service to Tulum International Airport, including twice-daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth and daily service to Charlotte and Miami.
With these new services, the airline will offer 105 peak-day flights to Mexico, the most of any U.S. carrier.
