AENA reported Monday that operations at El Prat Airport have been impacted by heavy storms affecting Barcelona (Spain). So far, 17 arrivals have been diverted to alternative airports, while half a hundred departure operations have been canceled by airlines or suffer considerable delays.
The Airport has set up its Crisis Committee to constantly monitor the impact of the heavy storms that also affect some areas of the terminals where there have been some water inflows, mainly in the public area of Terminal 1 and in the parking lot.

The storms also affect some accesses to the airport. In order to facilitate the mobility of vehicles, barriers have been opened in those parking areas that require alternative exits.
The Rodalies and Metro services to access the Airport have been suspended by their respective operators. Departing passengers are being channeled to alternative means of transportation.
