Alaska Airlines has unveiled news for travelers this summer, with the introduction, for the first time, of nonstop flights from Anchorage to Detroit and Sacramento. These routes represent a significant expansion of its connections between Alaska and the rest of the United States.

Flights on both routes, which will be operated on 737 aircraft, will begin June 14, 2025 and will be available once a week (Saturdays) through August 16, 2025. In addition, the airline will resume nonstop service between Fairbanks and Portland on May 15, 2025, with one flight daily through August 19, 2025.

United to fly between San Francisco and Panama City starting in May

“These new routes offer travelers more options to enjoy summer in Alaska without the hassle of layovers. Anchorage becomes an ideal starting point to explore other communities across the state or embark on a cruise”, Kirsten Amrine, vice president of network planning and revenue management at Alaska Airlines, said.

This summer, Alaska Airlines will connect Anchorage with 15 nonstop destinations in the contiguous United States and Hawaii, including:
